The Underfashion Club hosted Bra-Volution to give club members and friends a chance to walk back in time and witness the evolution of lingerie and sleepwear, from top to bottom! It was held at the Pergola Restaurant in NYC on June 23rd, 2015. Garments were pinned to boards throughout the venue to illustrate key trends for each decade from the 1950’s up until today with an amazing collection of beautiful garments, generously donated by friends in the intimate apparel industry! Our journey through time begins with the oldest piece on display, a Triumph bra from 1914.
The Underfashion Club had the pleasure of illustrating live lingerie models with guidance from the acclaimed fashion illustrator Bil Donovan during our latest event, “Illustration & Libation”! It was held on May 14th, 2015 at the Society of Illustrators in Manhattan, a gorgeous environment that’s brimming with art and dedicated to nurturing the creativity of illustrators. All attendees enjoyed a delicious dinner and drinks while networking!
Sketchbooks and felt-tip markers were provided for anyone who was willing to nurture their artistic abilities and learn a bit about fashion illustration from our talented guest. read more
The Underfashion Club members and friends gathered on April 21st, 2015 at The Cutting Room in Manhattan to receive an invaluable update on sourcing in the intimate apparel industry.
The speakers, from different sides of the sourcing experience, were Bob Dzielak (Commercial Director Apparel N & S America of INVISTA), Edward Hertzman (Publisher of The Sourcing Journal), Margaret Clougher (Vice President of Production/Technical Design of Aerie, American Eagle), and moderator Guido Campello (CEO of Cosabella). After networking over cocktails and delicious appetizers, we all took seats before our guests for the start of the seminar. read more

The annual Femmy Gala honors leading intimate apparel industry retailers, manufacturers, suppliers, innovators and individuals recognized for outstanding lifetime achievement, and raises funds in support of its mission, “Education today for a better industry tomorrow.” The 2015 Gala, hosted by actress/producer Vivica A. Fox was held at Cipriani 42nd Street on February 3rd, and featured the organization’s 12th Annual Student Design Contest whose winners, chosen that night, received cash awards. read more

It was wonderful to see many familiar faces and friends at the Underfashion Club Holiday Party this year! We met on December 9th at the gorgeous National Arts Club in Manhattan to celebrate together. Thank you to everyone who joined us despite the drab weather. You’ve helped make it an unforgettable night.
We are so grateful for the overwhelming amount of gifts collected for the children of Women in Need, Inc. this year. Through your generosity, we were able to brighten many children’s holiday this season. All gifts were distributed to the children of the New York Foundling. In addition, charitable donations were made to City Meals on Wheels, Friends of St. Francis, and The New York Foundling. We can’t thank you enough! read more
Frances Cole Jones believes that every encounter provides you with an opportunity to positively influence colleagues, employers, even competitors. She joined the Underfashion Club on November 12th, 2014 to share “10 Things You Can Do Today To WOW Tomorrow” at Space 530 in Manhattan. All attendees received a copy of Ms. Jones’ latest book, “How to Wow.” We are pleased to welcome thirteen new members for this event, one of which won the raffle for an hour with Frances herself!
Frances is a top 5 speaker in communication, a body language expert for The Insider, a business etiquette expert for Demand Media’s eHow video series, a job interview expert for About.com, and appears frequently on ABC and Fox News. She’s also the President of Cole Media Management, a media training company focused on cultivating clients’ inherent strengths to develop more powerful communication skills. Frances Cole Jones is the author of “How to Wow: Proven Strategies for Selling Your (Brilliant) Self in any Situation” and “The Wow Factor: The 33 Things You Must (and Must Not) Do to Guarantee Your Edge in Today’s Business World”.
