Modern Adaptive Marketable Design should prioritize comfort, easy closures, and functional design features. My collection focuses first and foremost on making my customer feel sexy and allowing them to have a stress-free dressing experience with magnetic based closures and lightweight non-constricting fabrics. Keeping this in mind, for my faux lace up bodysuit, I used a comfy four-way stretch spandex and gorgeous eyelash applique lace. All fabrics were hand-dyed with care in light elegant colors to enhance my theme of “Divine Feminine.” My chosen closure were magnetic snaps on the side seams to allow for my customer to simply snap the fabric together and pull apart for easy dressing. Also, after research and input from my model, I decided to omit the traditional snap gusset closure on the bodysuit. My bodysuit features a faux lace up design within the lace, as well as a lovely hand dyed ruffle trim on the hem. My goal was to make a bodysuit that makes my customers feel sexy and one they can easily put on. I want to encourage those with disabilities to tap into the power of Divine Feminine!
Isa Vorholy
My name is Isa and I’m a lingerie obsessed intimate apparel student! I’m a detail-oriented designer with an interest in sustainability and the intersection of gender and fashion. I was honored to be chosen as a finalist for the Student Design Contest as it made me think of how my customers may feel about the current options they have to choose from and how I can improve the market with beautiful and seamless designs. I love a challenge, and my strong point as a designer is understanding garment construction and how to turn an abstract idea into reality. After graduation, I’ll be focusing on working my way through the intimates industry and building my own brand. I’m currently planning my brand’s second NYFW show in the Fall. I have a long career ahead of me and I’m grateful that The Underfashion Club has given me an opportunity to shine.
