Inspirations
Bridget Munro
My name is Bridget Munro, and I was born and raised in the Albany area of Upstate, New York. I’ve always had a deep interest in art, which eventually translated its way into a love for fashion design. Somewhere along the way I discovered that, even more specifically, I had a passion for the intimate apparel industry—which led me to where I am now— currently in my last semester in the Intimate Apparel program at the Fashion Institute of Technology. I aspire to acquire as much knowledge and insight as possible during my time in the industry, which will allow me to create unique and functional pieces to uplift the wearer. I draw a lot of inspiration from vintage lingerie, and the world around me. Designers like Iris Van Herpen and Thierry Mugler inspire me to constantly think outside of the box and push limits. In the near future I hope to work with an intimate apparel label to deepen my understanding of the industry from inside out. From there, I plan to keep evolving and experimenting—with new materials, silhouettes, etc—-and perhaps even build my own label one day which reflects these visions and values of mine.
