Alyona Koval
My name is Alyona Koval. I was born and raised in Ukraine, where my passion for fashion began at age seven. When we got cable TV, I discovered “Fashion TV” and was mesmerized by the elegance of the runway—the music, the models, the garments. I asked my grandmother to teach me how to sew and started making clothes for my Barbies. Soon after, I learned to hand-knit and made pieces for myself.
After moving to the U.S. in sixth grade, I pursued fashion through electives in crafting and sewing. In high school, I took three years of fashion design, showcasing two collections in our annual show—one inspired by Breakfast at Tiffany’s, the other by Italian Baroque. Fashion became my comfort and outlet for self-expression. I spent my free time sewing, draping, watching documentaries, and taking mental notes on what building a fashion empire truly takes.
Now, my dream is to build a sustainable, future-forward fashion brand that merges beauty with technology while staying rooted in nature. I’m passionate about bioengineered textiles, smart clothing, and modular design—approaches that honor both innovation and the environment. I want to create fashion that evolves with the world, but never loses its connection to the earth.
