I decided to specialize in intimate apparel because it combines all my favorite areas of design. The attention to detail, delicate materials, and embellishments all really drew me in. I become very inspired at the beginning of a project when I am sourcing laces, trims, beads, and so on. One of my favorite parts of the process is when the whole garment is finished, and I get to sit down for hours and hand bead. I love the lingerie industry as well. It is such a small, niche market, and very woman driven. I am thrilled to be part of an industry that is dedicated towards empowering women and celebrating all bodies and experiences. After I graduate and begin my career, my goal is to gain experience working in some of my favorite lingerie ateliers, and eventually launch my own brand. I also aim to dedicate my career to encouraging sustainability in the lingerie industry.
