Draft for nxt weeek

4 GREAT TOOLS your students can use to get an internship OR their first job in the fashion industry. ALL of these tools are FREE.
STYLECAREERS.COM

StyleCareers.com is the largest, fashion-only job listing site on the Internet. We list more jobs than WWD, ApparelNews and FashionCareerCenter.com combined! If your students are looking for home-office fashion industry internships or entry-level positions, StyleCareers.com is a great place to start. Please visit www.stylecareers.com for details.

Please note: there are a few fashion industry job listing sites that charge people to view their ads. We’ve found these sites prey on the inexperience of students. A lot of students find it hard to unsubscribe from these websites and are often charged for access beyond their intended usage period. Job boards should be free (like StyleCareers.com); please steer your students away from the pay sites.

STYLEPORTFOLIOS.COM

StylePortfolios.com is the only, online portfolio website focused on the various fashion-related industries. If you have design or visual merchandising students who need to communicate their talent visually, please have them create a FREE online portfolio on StylePortfolios.com (www.styleportfolios.com).

In addition to having their own unique URL, your students’ portfolios will be in a searchable database that is used by many of the industry’s leading brands and recruiting agencies.

MAYOROFTHEMALL.COM
MayorOfTheMall.com is the first, fashion-only store-level job listing site on the Internet. Unlike other retail job boards, MayorOfTheMall.com is focused on fashion-forward retail positions (store associates, store management, visual merchandising, in-store specialists, district management, etc…). If you have students looking for part-time work OR looking for a career in retail, MayorOfTheMall.com is a great tool for their job search. Please visit www.mayorofthemall.com for details.

FASHIONCAREERFAIRS.COM

StyleCareers.com will be hosting 2 fashion industry recruiting events this Spring (one in LA, one in NY). These recruiting events DO NOT allow students or entry-level job seekers. We do however, encourage students to volunteer for these events. Because the student volunteers interact with fashion-industry recruiters at the fair; many get their first job as a result of participating. Please visit www.fashioncareerfairs.com for details.
