Golden Hour
The concept of golden hour portrays those few hours where the sun is streaming through your bedroom windows, lighting up the room with beautiful gold and orange notes. You’re listening to your favorite music as you dance around the room wearing this adorable yet comfortable lingerie dress. Maybe you’re cleaning up your room, maybe you’re getting ready to go out tonight, maybe you’re just passing time. Whatever it is it doesn’t matter, it’s about how you feel dancing in front of the mirror in a cute outfit with the perfect lighting. It’s about self -love and the confidence in yourself at that moment.
I created this piece, using the stretch lace from the hanky-panky panties, the cotton yoke from the night gown, and the Hue jersey T-shirt. I hand dyed each of these fabrics to create a golden hour peachy-orange hue.
The lace that was provided I used for the bra structure, back yoke, and hem. I used garment 3 (cotton nightgown) to create the yoke on the waist of the front of the dress. I reused the button closure on the neck of the night gown to go down the center front of the skirt, on the new garment. I did purchase to match the rest of the buttons on the upper half of the dress. To continue the closure up from the skirt yoke, I made the bra portion of the dress have a center front button closure as well, that connected all the way down to the skirt. I decided to use the Hue T-shirt over the other jersey option because upon feeling the weights of the garment the Hue T-shirt was going to give the best effect when gathered. I used the jersey T-shirt for the gathered skirt that connected to the cotton yoke as well as the midriff section that connected both the skirt and bra. This piece gives support while also being comfortable and creates a gorgeous hourglass shape with the skirt yoke. It features an extremely sexy open back with a stretch lace yoke for comfort. Over all this is a fun,

I was born in Bend, Oregon beneath the cascade mountain range. I learned to appreciate nature through my parents who both enjoyed it in different ways. My mother was an artist of many mediums and oftentimes painted the landscapes around us. My father taught us to love the outdoors through various sports (skiing, hiking, dirt bikes.) I moved away from the mountains with my mother when I was ten years old. We traveled to New Jersey where we lived next to my grandparents. Both my mother and grandmother taught me the basics of sewing. I always loved the tiny colorful cotton prints my grandmother used to make her quilts. My mother taught me to look at the clothing I owned and make a new pattern from the existing. In my free time I went from making dolls dresses, to making myself clothing. What started out as a way to pass the time, evolved into a challenge I could not say no to, and ultimately resulted in clothing I felt comfortable wearing to school and bragging about. I always loved the arts as my mother had taught me, and decided on going to FIT in the first year Florence, Italy program, making me further obsessed with the fashion world. My dream is to create and build a brand that combines intimate apparel with sportswear, inspired by all things vintage.
