The SAIG members, (11 dedicated committee members) met at FIT on Wed, April 23rd to interview 15 students from the Fashion Design Department.  These students presented themselves, talked about their goals and aspirations and presented their portfolios and garments.  This time there was one Production major and the rest of the students were from Design.  Professor Alexandra Armillas has done a remarkable job in helping to bring about this annual night of interviews for possible scholarships to the FIT students. read more


We will leave all the official feedback from the Femmy Awards Gala held last night at Cipriani’s to the home page wrap.  You will be able to see it all;  and for sure with much more professional photos. But we attended this stellar party last night – hats off to Karen Bromley and Barbara Lipton who co-chaired the event. The preparations were flawless and it showed,  so we decided to give you a Femmy wrap up appetizer. read more

Beautiful Fall like weather had a hand in the great turn out for UFC Speed Networking event held at the XVI Rooftop Lounge. New comers to the Intimate Apparel industry had the opportunity to spend five minutes with an industry expert to ask questions, exchange ideas, and make important contacts. There were conversations about what companies needed intimate designers, entrepreneurs seeking new customers to buy their innovative products, and start ups teams looking for insights on how to break through and get that first order. And that was only the first 15 minutes of the speed networking conversations!
